Biography
Dr. Ghafouri is a board-certified cardiologist and fellow of American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association. He is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he also completed his Internal Medicine residency. He completed his Fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at William Beaumont Hospital.
Dr. Ghafouri is a founding member of Carient Heart and Vascular and has been President and CEO for more than a decade. He has special interest in preventative cardiology and coronary artery disease. He has served as a Director of Cardiology at many of the health systems including Inova, Novant, and LifePoint. In addition, he has served as Chairman of the annual Cardiovascular Symposium, one of the largest educational cardiology symposiums in the country. Dr. Ghafouri has also been principal investigator on a number of significant studies related to heart failure and coronary artery disease.
For more than a decade, Dr. Ghafouri has been voted by peers as a Top Doctor in Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia magazine.
